Logistics at the limits of human mobility: How we supported Aerofoils with a critical delivery

Shipping premium products often presents significant challenges. However, the challenge faced by our client Aerofoils was particularly complex: The company, specializing in electric hydrofoil boards, required a large air freight shipment of several eFoils along with lithium batteries – and under extreme time pressure. The destination was more than 6,000 km away, making the logistics even more demanding.
The challenge in detail:
Besides the technological sophistication of the boards, the classification of the lithium batteries as dangerous goods presented a major challenge. These batteries are subject to strict IATA-DGR regulations regarding weight, packaging, and declaration. Even a single battery weighed more than 13 kg, which entailed additional requirements. Errors would not only have meant lost time but also additional costs and posed a risk to the entire shipment.
LGX's task: Everything once, please – and ASAP
Given the tight timeframe and the special requirements, Sarah Probst, Sales Operations Specialist at Aerofoils, asked us to handle the entire shipment process:
Air freight handling : Complete organization of air freight including the required IATA-DGR documentation.
Dangerous goods handling : Ensure that the lithium batteries are properly declared and transported as dangerous goods.
Delivery : Coordination of onward transport to the final destination, without delays or additional costs.
The clear objective: zero friction, no delays, and on-time delivery.
Our solution: Speed meets precision
We provided Sarah Probst with the first shipping quote within just a few hours. Our quick response time helped us stay within the tight timeframe while correctly implementing all requirements.
When handling dangerous goods, we ensured strict compliance with all IATA DGR regulations. A pallet containing a total of 26.6 kg of dangerous goods was correctly declared, and an additional battery was shipped separately, also in accordance with regulations. To avoid delays, all necessary documentation – including the Shipper's Declaration and all labeling requirements – was prepared in record time, and the transport was organized on schedule at every stage.
Throughout the entire transport phase, we provided Sarah Probst with continuous, clear, and precise updates. This transparent communication gave her the confidence that the transport would proceed smoothly.
The result: Everything on time – and without additional costs
Thanks to our swift action, flawless DGR processing and forward-looking planning, the delivery was not only on time, but also without additional costs or delays.
This means a happy ending for everyone involved! And for us, it's further confirmation of how important it is to have a reliable logistics partner. Especially when it comes to complex and time-critical shipments where every detail counts. We offer the necessary expertise and flexibility to meet our customers' requirements and deliver reliably, even under challenging conditions.
"With LGX I have a partner who makes no compromises under time pressure: clean DGR handling, reliable communication and dependable delivery – to the last marina or the most remote tropical island."
